There is daily maintenance that you need to know and do regulary. Many of our lash addicts are excellent at keeping their lashes healthy. However, there are few who don't fully understand the urgency of practicing good daily care. Below are some tips for anyone who does not know what to do once they have their new set of eyelash extensions.

Wash your face!

Yes it is ok and very necessary that you still cleanse your face. If you wear makeup of any type (foundation, concealer, eye makeup like shadow, liner, mascara), you need to clean well. Don't worry about the lashes. You'll clean around the lashes but do indeed clean. Clean over the sink instead of in the shower. This will protect the lashes from the heavy flow of the shower water hitting the lashes. The additional weight of the water is too much for the lashes and will cause the natural lashes to give up and fall out.

Wash your lash line

Yes, please do us all a favor and clean the lash line. Debris such as eye mucus, lint, makeup, sunblock, etc all build up around and in the lash line. Please help us and yourself out by cleaning that area. You can cleanse over the sink and use warm water and/or baby shampoo to cleanse this area. If you use the baby shampoo as a cleanser, please dilute it with 3 parts water to 1 part baby shampoo. There is nothing worse than preparing to perform a refill service and the client has old makeup, glue from strip lashes, lint, or eye mucus from eye allergies on the lashes and the eyelash line. It clogs your pores causing lash loss and it is very difficult to work in a timely manner and have to clean the lashes for a client. We find this happening frequently enough to where we added a Lash Cleaning Service to the menu.

Use Moisturizer on the eyelids

It is ok to moisturize your face and the eyelids. Your eyes need hydrating just like your face. Please do not neglect your eyes as the lids get very dry, crusty, and irritated and besides, it's just not cute!
